SEN6x – Environmental Sensing Rethought:
Less Effort, Faster Time-to-Market
The SEN6x from Sensirion is a modular and powerful platform for comprehensive air quality monitoring.
It combines multiple sensors in a previously unmatched form factor and can measure up to ten environmental parameters simultaneously.
A Previously Complex Process
Monitoring indoor air quality used to be a complex task. Multiple sensors had to be integrated into applications with considerable effort.
Different interfaces had to be queried, data analyzed, and measurement values sometimes calculated in relation to each other. In addition, each sensor had to be optimally exposed to the ambient air. PCB layout was complex, and every sensor had to be sourced individually.
As a result, the process was time-consuming, costly, and prone to errors.
Multiple Individual Sensors in a Compact Module
All of these challenges can be addressed with the SEN6x sensor platform.
Several individual sensors are arranged within a compact housing, ensuring optimal exposure to the surrounding air. Using internal algorithms, all sensor signals are processed and combined, with the results provided via an I²C interface. The module requires only a 3.3 V supply voltage.
This saves time and cost and helps you bring your product to market faster.
Choose from Six Module Solutions
The SEN6x family consists of six sensor modules.
They range from the basic module SEN62, which measures particulate matter, temperature, and relative humidity, to the all-in-one solution SEN69, which additionally provides measurements for CO₂, VOC, NOx, and formaldehyde.

A miniaturized, MEMS-based particulate matter sensor is the central element of all modules.
It integrates all components required to measure PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 within a single unit.
All modules also share the same compact housing, measuring just 54 × 24 × 22 mm. This makes the SEN6x the smallest all-in-one sensor module on the market.

By integrating the module into your device, you can comply with these standards while simplifying the accreditation process. This helps ensure a short time-to-market and an efficient cost structure.
The possible applications for these modules are as diverse as the parameters they measure.
- In smart home applications, examples include air purifiers, indoor air quality monitors, smart speakers, and thermostats.
- In office and industrial environments, they are also used in air purifiers and indoor air quality monitors. Additional applications include conference soundbars, smart video conferencing monitors, and surveillance cameras.
- In schools, typical applications include indoor air quality monitors, soundbars, and smartboards. A newer use case is vape detection, which can identify the use of e-cigarettes, for example in restrooms.
Getting started with the SEN6x family is easy with the SEK-SEN66 evaluation kit. It allows you to display and record measurements for particulate matter, CO₂, VOC, NOx, temperature, and relative humidity directly on a PC.
Further information about the modules can be found in the flyer, while the technical details are listed in the datasheet.
We would also be happy to provide more information at our booth at Embedded World 2026 – Hall 3A, Booth 3A-319, where you can experience the SEN66 live in action.
