Powering the Nervous System of Smart IoT Applications:
Quectel SoM at Just 200 mW

Quectel SRG091

From industrial applications and smart cities to intelligent infrastructure:
IoT is no longer a “nice-to-have.” It has become the nervous system of modern applications.

Smarter systems, better connectivity, and the ability to make autonomous decisions in real time all require integrated platforms that seamlessly combine processing power, connectivity, and interfaces. Solutions that give developers the freedom to innovate while minimizing integration effort.

This is exactly where a modern System-on-Module (SoM) comes into play:
compact, energy-efficient, powerful, and ready for demanding IoT scenarios.

To meet these requirements, Quectel offers the SRG091X, a suitable solution that combines processor, memory, wireless connectivity, and a wide range of interfaces in a compact module.

High Performance with Low Power Consumption
At the heart of the SRG091X modules is an i.MX91 processor from NXP. The ARM Cortex-A55 core running at up to 1.4 GHz delivers more than 4500 DMIPS of processing power for your application software. At the same time, it proves to be extremely energy-efficient, consuming only about 200 mW during operation.

The base configuration provides 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 8 GB eMMC for your data and application software. Configurations with up to 2 GB LPDDR4 and 256 GB eMMC are also available.

Well Connected
For communication, the SRG091X-W supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, ZigBee, and Thread, enabling flexible connectivity and interoperability with a wide range of devices and networks. For wireless functionality, an NXP IW610G radio solution is integrated directly into the module.

Alternatively, the SRG091X is also available as a processor-only version without integrated wireless connectivity.

Extensive Interfaces for Peripherals
The SRG091X modules provide a wide range of interfaces for connecting peripherals.

Two RGMII interfaces for Gigabit Ethernet and two CAN-FD interfaces enable networking with other devices, for example in industrial and automation applications or gateway solutions. Additional interfaces such as USB, SDIO, SPI, UART, I²C, and ADC complete the feature set and allow easy integration of further components for your application.

Because images say more than words…

In addition to interfaces for connecting devices and components, applications such as industrial HMI or smart home systems also require an important “interface” to people.

For this purpose, the Quectel modules offer additional multimedia capabilities, including interfaces for displays, cameras, and audio.”

An “All-in-One” Solution
The System-on-Module combines the most important components for your IoT application in a compact form factor of 46 × 41.5 × 3.0 mm. Processor, memory, and wireless connectivity are already integrated, together with a wide range of powerful interfaces.

This advantage simplifies and accelerates the development of your application all the way to market readiness. For production as well, the reduced number of required components simplifies sourcing and logistics.

Flexible Software Architecture
For IoT applications, hardware capabilities alone are not enough — support for the right software is equally important. The SRG091X modules support Linux, Zephyr, and FreeRTOS as operating systems. This allows you to flexibly choose the software architecture that best fits your application.

Even More Performance for Demanding Applications
For applications with higher processing requirements, the SRG093X modules are available in the same form factor, based on the NXP i.MX93 processor. A dual-core ARM Cortex-A55 running at 1.7 GHz, combined with an additional ARM Cortex-M33 microcontroller at 250 MHz, enables the development of even more powerful applications.

In the SRG093X-W variant, the proven NXP IW610G is also integrated, providing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and ZigBee connectivity.
