The Robust Wireless Network Package for IoT:
mioty® Protocol with Scalable Hardware + SUPPORT

MIOTY-SILABS

In the world of the Internet of Things (IoT), powerful, scalable and energy-efficient wireless networks are the key to success. Whether in Industry 4.0 or in the Smart City – the requirements for a wireless system vary considerably. Range, energy efficiency, cost structure and transmission security play a crucial role. This is precisely where mioty®, the innovative IoT protocol from Fraunhofer IIS, comes in.

Maximum robustness thanks to innovative split message procedure

The technological advantage of mioty® lies in its asymmetrical transmission method. Data is split into small packets, sent redundantly and distributed across different frequencies. The receiver reassembles the individual packets into a complete message. Even if up to 50% of the packets are lost, the information remains complete and loss-free. This makes mioty® one of the most robust IoT wireless solutions on the market.

The right hardware for maximum performance

A powerful protocol requires the right hardware. Thanks to the EFR32FG23 from SILICON LABS, a first-class system-on-chip (SoC) solution is available. This 32-bit ARM Cortex®-M33 processor with 512 kB Flash, 64 kB RAM and a sub-GHz radio transceiver is the ideal basis for mioty® applications.

Swiss precision: the FMLR23SLL IoT module from MIROMICO

The Swiss company MIROMICO AG has developed the FMLR23SLL, a state-of-the-art IoT module that perfectly supports mioty®. The heart of the FMLR23SLL is the EFR32FG23, from SILICON LABS. But that's not all – this module offers a broad portfolio of communication protocols such as Wi-SUN, WM-Bus, Amazon Sidewalk and CONNECT. This flexibility allows users to seamlessly integrate mioty® into various existing and new IoT environments.

FMLR23SLL module in facts:

  • Operating voltage: 3.3 V
  • Frequency band: sub-GHz – ISM band (can be used worldwide)
  • RF output: 14.5 dBm
  • Core: 32-bit ARM Cortex®-M33 MCU / 78 MHz
  • Flash memory: 512 kB
  • RAM: 64 kB
  • Modulation methods: 2/4 (G)FSK, OQPSK DSSS, OOK, (G)MSK
  • Proprietary protocols: mioty® , CONNECT, Wi-SUN, wM-Bus, Amazon Sidewalk
  • Dimensions: 14 x 19.5 x 2 mm
  • Temperature range: -20 to 85 °C

Order designation/variants:

The module will be available in four variants. With an antenna pad or a U.FL connector, as well as the option of an additional 4-Mbit flash.
