GLYN Switzerland:
Passion and Team Spirit Amidst Stunning Landscapes
"Hi everyone! Today we'll be taking you to our Swiss office – a place where technical expertise meets passionate hobbies and the beautiful Swiss countryside. ‘The office, which is located in a region full of mountains, lakes and green valleys, is not just a workplace, but also a place where the team can pursue their diverse interests and talents.’ – enthuses Gery, office manager at GLYN Switzerland.
GLYN PR: Dear Gery, we know that you bring a particularly ‘maritime’ touch to the team. Tell us what that is exactly.
Gery: My great passion is seasongs, the so-called shanty songs. As an active member of the ‘Shantymen Stäfa’, a group of about 30 singers and musicians, I live this hobby with all my heart. Whether habaneras, fishermen's songs or old seafaring songs from the days of the tall ships – we sing them in ten different languages and inspire our audience at home and abroad. But that's not all: I also enjoy playing football, riding my e-bike and spending time with family and friends.
GLYN PR: Let's continue sailing on the SUPPORT wave. Your team in Switzerland is characterised by its special passion for technology and for life. We see colleagues here who shine in their field of expertise and are full of energy and enthusiasm in their free time. May we introduce them?
Gery: Yes, please do, introduce yourself!
Bea is a real all-rounder.
Whether she's riding a motorbike, hiking, biking or doing sports, she's always on the move. Family and friends are very important to her.
Particularly impressive, however, is her 20 years of experience with the fire brigade, where she worked on the front line. This time has shaped her and taught her many valuable lessons for life.
The combination of action, camaraderie and the willingness to help in precarious situations has made her a strong and determined personality.
Alain is the culinary expert in the team.
With his particular passion for preparing pizza, he loves baking it outside in the pizza oven. But his love of cooking is just one facet of his diverse interests.
Alain is a real Vespa fan and spends a lot of time tinkering with his Vespa, which is almost 40 years old, or cruising through the countryside with it. Motorcycle trips to beautiful places and picturesque landscapes are also among his favourite activities.
When he's not on two wheels, he can often be found in the nearby mountains hiking with his wife – preferably to a place with a cosy mountain restaurant. He also enjoys e-biking along rivers and experiencing nature.
Reto, a real sports enthusiast.
He loves ice hockey and football. Together with his family, he eagerly follows the games of the ZSC (Zürcher Schlittschuh Club) and the FCZ (FC Zürich).
But it's not just the stadium air that attracts him, he also loves to be out on the streets of Switzerland – preferably on his ‘Italian diva’, a Ducati, with which he discovers the Swiss landscapes when the weather is nice.
Music is his other great passion. He is a regular concert-goer, particularly enthusiastic about bands from the 80s and 90s.
Ricardo is drawn to the tranquillity of nature.
He is a keen angler and enjoys spending hours at idyllic mountain lakes.
Hiking through the Swiss forests and mountains is another of his favourite pastimes, especially when he can collect mushrooms along the way.
With three girls at home, his diary is certainly full, but he still always finds time for his little breaks in nature.
GLYN PR: The team in Switzerland is not only a well-rehearsed team at work, but also outside of the office. The shared experiences and the passion for your hobbies weld you together.
Whether you are at a concert, a football game, a motorbike tour or a cosy evening baking pizza – here you experience real team spirit and a sense of belonging that goes far beyond the workplace.
