The New 13D Display Series from EDT - Part 2: 7.0" - 10.1" LVDS Interface
Display manufacturer EDT presents its new 13D Value Line display series.
This consists of a total of 8 different displays with different resolutions for particularly price-sensitive applications.
In the first part of our series, we introduced you to the displays with TTL interface.
In the following second part, we will show you the three displays with LVDS interface. These are available in the following sizes and resolutions:
- 7.0’ WSVGA (1024x600)
- 8.0’ XGA (1024x768)
- 10.1’ WXGA (1280x800)
With the 7.0‘ and 8.0’ you can choose between a colour depth of 18-bit or 24-bit, the 10.1’ has a fixed colour depth of 24-bit. With 18-bit 218 colours can be displayed, with 24-bit 224 colours.
Optionally with touch panel
The display modules are available with or without a touch panel. The 7.0’ and 8.0’ display with touch, an additional capacitive touch panel including the corresponding ILITEK ILI2118A touch controller is used. The IIC is used as the interface for reading the touch panel or the touch controller for these two display modules.
The ILI2118A touch controller is a cheaper version compared to the more powerful ILITEK controllers. However, it can also be used in industrial environments with very good EMC immunity.
The interface used for the touch controller on the 10.1’ display is USB. The more powerful touch controller from ILITEK ILI2132 is used here. This can also be used in critical areas with regard to EMC interference immunity.
Brightness and backlight service life
All modules have a typical brightness of 500cd/m² or 425 cd/m² for the touch versions and a minimum backlight service life of 30,000 hours.
The LCD and the touch controller (on the 7.0‘ & 8.0’) require an operating voltage of 3.3V. The 10.1’ requires 5.0V for the touch controller via USB.
Customised adaptations from 1000 pieces
These displays are available from GLYN from a minimum order quantity of 1000 units. From this purchase quantity, it is also possible to customise, remove or add individual components of the new 13D display series. Do you need a decorative glass panel customised to your housing front?
Furthermore, the advantages of the integrated IPS technology can also be fully utilised with all three modules. These variants allow position-independent use in the respective application.
Adapter boards including LED driver for a quick start
We have developed adapter boards including LED drivers for the 7.0‘’ and 10.1‘’ sizes so that you can easily familiarise yourself with the 13D series. These are available to you for initial tests and evaluation. On request, we can present the display series to you using demos.
