The SiWx917 from SILICON LABS is a high-performance Wi-Fi 6 + BLE 5.4 Wireless SoC, specifically designed for battery-operated IoT applications.
The dual-processor system consists of a 160 MHz multi-thread processor (ThreadArch®) and an ARM® Cortex®-M4F with up to 180 MHz. This allows for efficient management of wireless and network-based stacks and application processors in industrial applications.
Wi-Fi 6 Standby 55µA@1-Second Interval
Wi-Fi 6, with Target Wake Time (TWT), supports an extremely energy-efficient mode for IoT applications. This allows devices to determine when they should wake up and communicate. This reduces the overall energy consumption to as low as 2.5 µA in Deep Sleep/Standby Current. The battery life in battery-operated Wi-Fi applications is significantly extended. Alternatively, smaller batteries can be integrated into the device – ideal for space-sensitive applications. The SoC also supports WPA3 for increased security against cyber attacks.
The key features of the SiWx917 include Wi-Fi 6 in the single-band 2.4 GHz with data rates up to 86 Mbps, Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4 with a maximum power of +19.5 dBm, an ARM® Cortex®-M4F core with 180 MHz, security features like Secure Boot & OTA, as well as ultra-low power consumption in standby mode. The SiWx917 is housed in a 7.00 x 7.00 x 0.85 mm QMS package and operates in a temperature range of -40 to 105 °C.
