The TDK-MICRONAS HVC 4x and HVC 5x high-voltage controller families combine an Arm® standard microcontroller core with advanced additional functions that were previously only achievable through discrete switching elements.

Specially developed as an embedded controller for smart actuators, the HVC family offers extended integration for compact and cost-efficient system concepts. Applications span across the automotive sector, industry, consumer segment, and measurement technology.

Specifically designed for three-phase brushless motor applications, the HVC 5223C, with half the contact resistance and twice the peak current compared to the HVC 5222C, demonstrates its performance.

All models of the HVC 5x series - HVC 5221D, HVC 5222C, and HVC 5223C - offer 32 KB Flash, 2 KB SRAM, and 512 bytes EEPROM. Ensuring compatibility with the HVC 4x family, all HVC 5x devices are based on the same Arm Cortex®-M3 CPU-based microcontroller, offering largely the same peripherals for motor control and LIN bus connectivity.

Efficient Design and Integration:
Designed for efficiency, the general-purpose I/O pins (GPIOs) have been reduced to seven, and some power supply connections have been removed, optimizing the bill of materials (BoM). Additional features such as a WAKE input and an external reset pin increase flexibility for various applications.

The HVC 5x family includes functions like differential input channels, digital timers, capture-compare units, and an SPI master interface, facilitating the simple integration of application functions. Other products from the TDK-MICRONAS portfolio, such as Hall switches or 2D/3D sensors, can also be seamlessly integrated for precise motor control.
