A Strong Duo:
The New Family Concept Display with Ka-Ro CoM-Evalboard
So you can start your HMI development conveniently and immediately.
So you get to the finished product quickly and cost-efficiently.
The TFT displays from the new family concept are the perfect choice for a quick design-in. Available in 3.5'', 4.3'', 5.0'' and 7.0'' sizes, they are packed with outstanding specifications. Thanks to the integrated decorative glass panel - including black printing - the displays can be quickly and easily integrated into your case.
Matching to the display you get the coordinated control unit directly with it. In cooperation with the Computer-on-Module manufacturer Ka-Ro we have developed a new evaluation board based on solder modules. The evaluation boards are available in two variants - one with the STM32MP1 series and another with the Renesas RZ/G2L.
A lot of know-how of our specialists has been invested in this concept to simplify your product development of a Linux application with a display.
High performance processors
The STM32 MP1 features a 650 MHz ARM® Cortex® A7 core and a 209 MHz real-time Cortex-M4 microcontroller. The Renesas RZ/G2L comes with a snappy 1.2 GHz ARM® A55 dual core and a 200 MHz ARM® Cortex®-M33 in tow.
The modules are suitable for a wide range of applications, especially for compact IoT projects.
Since a baseboard design is used here, all interfaces are the same on both Evaboards. The differences only come into play through the use of the processors and their corresponding features and performance.
Integrated graphic interface
A 50 pin ribbon cable connector natively supports the UI2 displays of the new EDT family concept. Both modules have a GPU to support graphic displays.
Additional Cortex-M4 or M33 core for real-time applications
The Renesas M33 core can handle classic microcontroller tasks such as real-time processing. This means that you can dispense with an external microcontroller and reduce the overall cost of the system.
The STM32 has a Cortex M4 core to take over microcontroller tasks.
Plenty of peripherals
The evaluation boards have a very large number of peripheral interfaces like 1 x GB Ethernet as well as 2 x USB 2.0 and a Mini SD slot. Another USB interface is available for debugging.
Furthermore all available pins of the solder modules are led out. UART, I2C, SPI as well as two CAN interfaces are available.
Plannable long-term availability
The two solder modules used on the starter kits are designed for an availability of at least 12 years.
Flexibly exchangeable
With our new evaluation boards you can evaluate the module and the display at the same time. The displays from the new family concept can be interchanged as required in conjunction with the boards. The boards are delivered with software for testing the display properties and touch. In addition, a Yocto-based software system is available to developers.
Our strong duo supports you in a faster time-to-market of your project.
