8 TB M.2 Industrial SSD +++ Robust Against Rowhammer Attacks +++ Xmore® Doubles Storage Space in a 2.5" SSD
Offers More than Meets the Eye! Xmore SSDs in pseudoSLC Mode from -40 °C to 85 °C
"An extended temperature range at the C-temp. price would be a real benefit for us!"
This - or something similar - is what we hear very often from our customers.
We take our customers' concerns very seriously and we check how we can implement such requests. After long research and many internal test rounds, we can offer you such an option! So you no longer have to cut back on the temperature range if the budget is tight.
How do they manage that at GLYN?
We can offer the cost-neutral extended temperature range option with our Xmore® SSD series in the popular M.2 2280 form factor. This has an extended temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C. The whole thing is completely on a par in terms of price with a solution in the standard temperature range of 0 °C to 70 °C. We can realize this by using the BiCS5 FLASH from KIOXIA in pseudoSLC mode. The proven and versatile KIOXIA Flash is carefully screened and tested by our experts to be able to realize a higher temperature range in combination with the proven pseudoSLC mode.
What is the pseudoSLC mode and why is it used?
Simply put, we take some work off our installed NAND flash controller by means of a special firmware. Instead of 8 states in 3D TLC mode, the controller only has to distinguish 2 different states. This makes the flash much more durable. Instead of the standard 3k write/erase cycles, we now achieve 50k write/erase cycles! This significantly increased robustness is also reflected accordingly in the temperature range.
A small drop of bitterness: The capacity is only ¼ of the original.
This means that a 960 GB 3D TLC SSD becomes a 240 GB pSLC SSD.
The whole thing is shown in a picture:
Both SATA 3.1 and PCIe Gen3x4 are supported as interfaces.
And it gets even better...
On a project basis, we can allow the use of our specially screened 3D TLC FLASH in native TLC mode even in the temperature range of -20 °C to 85 °C.*

You will quickly discover that Xmore® offers more than meets the eye!
* However, due to the vulnerability of the NAND, the test effort is significantly higher than in pSLC mode, so this option is subject to a higher MOQ. Please ask us specifically for this!
