Hall Sensors

Hall Sensors

Magnetic field sensors respond only to the magnetic field of an electromagnet or permanent magnet.
This makes them particularly resistant to manipulation and interference. Designed with a small housing, they also measure longer sensing distances.
Available as linear, switching or 3D Hall sensors.

Here are some typical applications:

  • Position measurement: Hall sensors are often used to determine the position of moving parts. They are used in automobiles to to control gearboxes or to detect the position of doors and flaps.
  • Speed measurement: These sensors can measure the speed of motors and other rotating objects by measuring the frequency of changing magnetic fields.
The frequency of changing magnetic fields. This is particularly important in the automotive industry for powertrain control.
  • Rotary encoders: In industrial automation, Hall sensors are often used in rotary encoders to provide precise positioning information for motor control.
  • Security applications: They are also used in alarm systems and access control systems to monitor the status of doors and windows.
