A standard display consists of approximately 100 components. Most of the components used are beyond the control of the LCD manufacturers. Despite the best intentions, the lifespan of many electronic components is difficult to predict.
EDT products are designed for a minimum availability of 3 years, typically 5 years. In order to offer more reliability in this very volatile market, EDT has made the industry a promise that you will hardly find with any other manufacturer.
Extension of availability by up to 3 years after LTB through a special Lifetime Quantity Commitment (LQC).
In the event of a discontinuation, you have the option of securing your requirements for the next three years through a special agreement. You agree a quantity and a period with GLYN and EDT during which the total quantity is required.
The discontinued component is stored by EDT to ensure production for the agreed period. This way, you avoid having to store displays that have already been produced, which in turn protects your liquidity, and we supply you with displays with current datecodes.
