Product lifetime and availability - EDT
A standard display comprises around 100 components. Most of these components are beyond the control of LCD manufacturers. Despite their best intentions, it is difficult to predict the lifetime of many electronic components.
EDT products are designed to be available for at least 3 years and typically for 5. In this highly volatile market, EDT has made a commitment to the industry that you would struggle to find with any other manufacturer. This commitment ensures greater reliability.
A special Lifetime Quantity Commitment (LQC) can be used to extend availability by up to 3 years after the LTB.
If the product is discontinued, you can secure your requirements for the next 3 years by arranging a special agreement with GLYN and EDT. You will agree on a quantity and timeframe with GLYN and EDT and you will be required to take the total quantity within this period.
EDT stores discontinued components to ensure production continues as agreed. This means that you do not need to store displays that have already been produced, which protects your liquidity. We will also supply displays with the current date code.
