The i.MX8M-PLUS CoM modules from Ka-Ro
Computer-on-Modules for real-time applications.
On the new products, Ka-Ro has integrated the new i.MX-8M-Plus application processor from NXP. The processor has four Cortex-A53 cores that can be clocked at up to 1.6 GHz and a Cortex-M7 core with up to 700 MHz for real-time applications.
For machine learning and image processing
In addition, the modules have an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) with 2.3 TOPs, as well as other powerful coprocessors. In addition to the NPU, there is an integrated image signal processor for pre-processing camera signals and the Tensilica HiFi4 DSP. This makes the i.MX-8M-Plus-based modules ideal for machine learning (ML), image processing or demanding multimedia applications.
As solder module and in TX form factor
There are currently two products available with the processor. One module in the familiar TX form factor (200PIN SODIMM), and one solder module in the very compact QFN design. Both modules have 2 GByte DDR4 RAM and an 8 GByte eMMC memory.
The TX module measures 68 x 26 mm and offers, in addition to the standard TX interfaces, a USB 3.0 interface, an LVDS and MIPI display interface, HDMI, two CAN FD and two camera interfaces.
The QSX module measures 29 x 29 mm in a QFN housing with a height of only 2.6 mm. Its compact size makes it ideal for use in powerful handheld devices.
