Up to now, displays could neither communicate via CAN, Ethernet or similar.
Neither among each other nor with a PC. Touch control with a remote HMI unit over longer distances? You had to implement that in a very complex way.

Use our new Smart Embedded® Display solution - we have taught it how to "communicate".

Smart Embedded® Displays are equipped with an ARM® Cortex®-M7. The special feature is not only the "intelligence" that comes with it. You also benefit from the numerous interfaces.

I²C, SPI, CAN, RS485, RS232, GPIOs, USB and Ethernet (e.g. PoE) are already integrated on our standard products. Do you have a special request? We will be happy to fulfill it with a customer-specific variant.

Application example 1

Multiple displays communicate directly with each other (commands, hardware interrupts, touch inputs) without depending on a central control. This allows the same user interface (UI) to be shown on more than one display.

Possible area of application: Applications where the same UI has to be seen in several places, e.g. a cash register system or information desks.

Application example 2

Remote HMI unit over a greater distance thanks to STM32: The entire UI and its response to touch inputs is processed directly on the display. This avoids the transmission of high data volumes over long cables - ideal for good EMC. In combination with PoE, this makes an HMI completely independent of a local power supply.

Application example 3

Smart Embedded® as the heart of your application: If the Cortex®-M7 has enough power for your purposes, this display takes over the entire control of your application - also thanks to the numerous interfaces. Smart Embedded® relies on hardware acceleration, FreeRTOS and TouchGFX. Graphics rendering is highly optimized so that the controller's performance is used efficiently.
