Quad-core power in 27 x 27 mm — Simply solder to the circuit board
Bringing high-performance computing power to your own board with ease – this is the goal of the new QS Computer-on-Module family (or CoM for short) by Ka-Ro.
The modules are ultra-small in 27 mm x 27 mm and only 2.3 mm high in a QFN housing form.
The processor, PMIC, RAM and even the flash memory are already integrated.
Secure contacting
The QS concept allows you to use a simple two-layer baseboard, eliminating the need for an expensive multi-layer board layout. Thanks to the QFN solder joints, you are spared the time-consuming X-ray inspection of the contacts, which would otherwise be necessary in the case of BGA housings, for example. A quick visual inspection is completely sufficient. All PINs are easy to reach by measurement.
Direct soldering increases operational reliability in harsh environments. You can save on complex board-to-board connectors. The modules are automatically assembled and soldered.
You can launch large-series production immediately.
Scalable performance, thanks to pin-compatible concept
Just like the TX family from Ka-Ro, the new family is also based on a pin-compatible concept.
You can easily scale and customise the performance you need. The new QS Standard includes all the key interfaces, including USB, gigabit Ethernet and many standard interfaces. The modules require only a 3.3 V supply for operation.

Single-sided design makes integration easy
There are no connections under the case, only the central GND pad!
The optimised pin-out is designed to allow direct connections without crossing the traces.
Quick start with evaluation kits
The evaluation kits also serve as a reference. They show you how easy it is to design a baseboard using the QS family. A simple two-layer PCB is sufficient to implement the board with the QSMP-1570 module. For higher performance requirements, an additional kit is available with the NXP-based quad-core
QSQM-MQ00 module.
You can order the STM32MP1-based starter kits at the price of €99.00* under the designation
QSMP-SV57 from GLYN. The NXP based Quad-Core Kit Q8SM-SVMQ is available for €169.00*.
The displays of the TFT family concept from GLYN and manufacturer EDT can easily be connected to the evaluation kits. Thanks to a uniform interface, you can exchange displays in sizes from 3.5" to 7" with each other.
