The BGM220 series offers a complete solution based on the EFR32BG22 SoC, including robust software stacks that can be fully updated. Key features of the series include global certification as well as advanced development and debugging tools.

At just 6 × 6 mm, the BGM220S series is the world's smallest Bluetooth SiP solution. An ultra-compact, cost-effective module with minimal power consumption for an extended battery life. 

The BGM220P variant in the series is available in the form of a PCB module.
The BGM220P is optimised for wireless performance. An improved RF link budget enables radio communications over longer distances.

BGM220S and BGM220P are among the first modules that support positioning via Bluetooth and provide a maximum battery life of ten years with a single button cell.

Comprehensive security functions provide a safe Bluetooth connection

Security is a key issue for networked applications. SILICON LABS has further improved and developed additional security functions. The following are implemented and executed in the hardware and software:

The new PCB modules are available in a PCB package with dimensions of
12.9 x 15.0 x 2.2 mm. The PCB variant offers a higher RF performance than smaller SiP modules. 

  • ARM Cortex M33 with 76.8 MHz
  • +8 dBm transmission power
  • Up to 512 kB flash and 32 kB RAM
  • Bluetooth 5.2

The System-in-Package (SiP) module from SILICON LABS is one of the smallest modules currently available on the market. The modules have extremely compact dimensions of 6.0 x 6.0 x 1.1 mm.

  • ARM Cortex M33 with a clocking frequency of between 38.4 MHz and 76.8 MHz
  • Up to +6 dBm transmission power
  • Up to 512 kB flash and 32 kB RAM
  • Bluetooth 5.2 
  • Temperature range of -40 °C to 105 °C
