TOSHIBA MPDs support MIPI®, LVDS, DisplayPort® and HDMI
Increasing resolutions and image quality of multimedia content:
Huge quantities of data are transferred between cameras, displays and other peripheral devices.
As interface bridges, TOSHIBA offers mobile peripheral devices (MPDs), which SUPPORT high-speed protocols such as MIPI®, LVDS, DisplayPort® and HDMI®.
This allows you to effortlessly implement a high-speed data exchange between two devices, such as main processors, cameras, displays and other peripheral devices.
The MPDs not only ensure the fast transfer of data:
They also form a bridge between main processors and peripheral devices with different interfaces. This means that you don't have to redevelop the whole system according to the peripheral connection, but only exchange parts in the input and output area. This significantly reduces the “time to market” and the development costs.
Do the check.
If one of the following five points applies to you, you should absolutely consider using TOSHIBA MPDs:
- You want to connect other cameras and displays with different interface types to an
existing system. - You need to solve challenges with interface gaps between at least two devices in the development of new products.
- In the development of a new product, you no longer have a direct interface in your CPU
to the old display, which you want to retain for alternative use. - You want to integrate affordable components in your application, but they have a different interface than the current CPU.
- You want to reduce the signal line through a serial high-speed interface.

Typical application areas of TOSHIBA MPDs are:
Imaging in consumer, industrial and automotive applications, tablets, ultrabooks, smartphones, cameras, games accessories, head-mounted displays (HDM), LCDs, MIPI panels, video projectors, DMA, set-top boxes, smart TVs, mobile devices, wearable displays, IO port expansion, POS and much more.
Starter kit and complete access to all data sheets
On request, you can receive complete access to comprehensive data sheets for the components.
You can build your own circuit board based on the provided circuit diagrams of reference system.
TOSHIBA provides a tool for the automatic configuration of the extensive registers. The MPD bridge chip sets the registers via I2C (SPI, MIPI, etc.). The register setting value changes according to the interface parameters.
The manufacturer provides a setting sequence that automatically generates a register setting based on the required interface parameters.
Various starter kits are available for quick evaluation.
We would be happy to provide you with more information on request.
