Bluetooth 5.0 for sensor- and voice-enabled IoT systems:
WICED® SIP modules work with current consumption of just 15 µA
Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity – User-friendly for short times to market.
Ideal for sensor- and voice-enabled IoT designs.
The INFINEON/CYPRESS WICED® modules combine 3 advantages in a System-in-Package (SIP):
- Bluetooth classic and Bluetooth Low Energy
- Transmission and reception in the power-saving Bluetooth PHY mode
- Fully certified – you can start immediately
With sound features for intelligent voice control
Comfortable "state-of-the-art" control of your IoT designs by voice.
The WICED® Bluetooth solutions provide an I²S master and slave interface for sound applications. ΣΔ based pulse density modulation (PDM) with a 2.4 MHz clock is supported for microphones. A stereo sound can be guaranteed for two input channels with a data rate up to 16 kHz. Alternatively, pulse code modulation in master or slave mode with an outstanding 16-bit per sample can be used.
You can use these WICED® module variants:

Cross-platform development free of charge
Use the functionality of the Modus Toolbox™ for this purpose. This consists of a series of cross-platform development tools and a comprehensive suite of GitHub-hosted firmware libraries. You can create combined MCU and wireless systems in just a few steps. The development environment is even available free of charge. It works with various ARM® compilers and is available for Windows®, macOS®, and Linux®.
Starter kits for a quick entry
The new INFINEON/CYPRESS CYW920719B2Q40EVB-01 Evaluation Kit enables you to directly develop Bluetooth applications for the Ultra Low Power CYW20719 chip set. The kit and the CYW20719 chip set are supported in ModusToolboxTM 2.0 and BT SDK 2.0 (or higher).
Kit functions:
40-QFN CYW20719 Bluetooth 5.0-compliant BT/BLE Wireless MCU
Arduino-compatible header for hardware expansions
On-board sensors – a 9-axis motion sensor (3D digital linear acceleration sensor, 3D digital angular rate sensor and 3D digital magnetic sensor) and a thermistor
User buttons and LEDs
USB port for power supply and programming and as a USB-UART bridge
Summary
The INFINEON/CYPRESS WICED® SIP modules combine Bluetooth classic and Bluetooth Low Energy with power-saving Bluetooth PHY for the first time. With a RX/TX current consumption of 5.6 / 5.9 mA, the complete current consumption can be reduced to 14 µA in advertising mode.
Calculated in CR2032 life time, this equates to just under 2 years operation without changing the battery.
This is ideal for space- and energy-sensitive sensors or PWM motor control via Bluetooth.
You have the right partner in GLYN. We also offer workshops and seminars to help you get started with the PSoC® and WICED® platform.
You will learn how to use the PSoC® Creator® and ModusToolbox™ within a very short time. Our application engineers will support you from the evaluation and feasibility analysis to the series production of the product.
