The advantages of brushless motors in electrical drives are evident:

  • a high degree of efficiency
  • long service life and reliability
  • high dynamics at high speeds and with a high power density
  • better EMC (no electrical brush sparking)
  • EX-protected versions
  • smooth running

Do you want to make use of the advantages of brushless motors (BLDC/BLAC/EC motors), but want to avoid the additional electronics and software costs?

TOSHIBA offers a highly innovative concept with its TMPM37X - Cortex M3 MCUs. It is based on a hardware-cast vector engine (VE) and the so-called programmable motor drive unit (PMD) used to address BLDC/BLAC/EC motors.

With MotorMind, TOSHIBA offers a unique, free, graphic user interface that makes a valuable contribution to the adaptation of the µC to the target application. The DSO integrated into the user interface is unique to MotorMind. It can be used to visualise important parameters such as phase voltages and phase currents. The necessary data are taken directly from the vector engine and PMD of the TMPM374.
